Context
Planet Mama is headquartered in Kolkata, a city whose sewage has for generations been treated naturally by the East Kolkata Wetlands, a working example of nature-based water infrastructure.
Across rural West Bengal, households rely on ponds for daily use and on groundwater for drinking and irrigation. Our WASH, groundwater and wetland programmes are developed and tested here before they travel.
