Testing whether restored mangroves can support a high-integrity blue carbon project that funds communities for decades.
01The challenge
Mangrove restoration needs finance that lasts as long as the forest. Carbon finance can provide it, but only if the carbon is real, additional, permanent and fairly shared.
Assessing land tenure, historical cover, planting zones and applicable methodologies before any claim is made.
Communities decide whether to proceed and how benefits are shared.
Setting up plots, remote sensing and soil sampling so that future claims can be monitored and verified.
03Community
Sundarbans communities and women's groups working in mangrove restoration.
04Impact
